The Mandel JCC of the Palm Beaches Announces New Summer Days at the J Program

The Mandel JCC announced a new program called Summer Days at the J in order to meet the needs of the community left without childcare in light of COVID-19, quarantine.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL - MAY 14, 2020 – The Mandel Jewish Community Center (JCC) of the Palm Beaches, an organization dedicated to building community and enhancing Jewish life, recently announced a new program being offered at the Mandel JCC beginning in June called Summer Days at the J. The program begins Monday, June 8th and will run through Friday, August 7th. Capacity will be limited as the Mandel JCC adheres to health guidelines. Enrollment for 9-week participants will open at 9am on Monday, May 18th. If space is still available, enrollment for two shorter sessions (1st session: June 8 - July 10 and 2nd session: July 13 - August 7) will start Wednesday, May 20th at 5pm. Priority in each enrollment group will be given to currently enrolled families in Mandel JCC programming and first responders/front line heroes.

“We have been hearing from many families looking for safe and fun care for the summer. Our mission is to serve the needs of the community, so our team has worked hard to create a great plan that follows health protocols and will allow our children a much-needed fun and safe summer.” says Jesse Rosen, Mandel JCC President & CEO. “This program is not the camp our families are accustomed to as we will be following CDC guidelines and keeping social distancing which prevents us from running field trips and some of our camp-wide events. However, it will allow children to swim, play games, interact with their friends, and get out of the house. Most importantly it will allow parents to get back to work if they need to and provide some sense of normalcy for our children.”

The Mandel JCC always puts safety first and will be taking safety precautions for this summer program including temperature checks for staff and children, increased cleaning support, personal protection equipment, smaller group sizes and restricting building access to only children and staff participating in Summer Days at the J and preschool.
