Boynton Beach Open Positions


Director of Arts & Culture

Responsible for setting the vision and operational plan for the Mandel JCC cultural arts programs. Manages day to day department needs, which includes oversight of year-round book festival events, The Donald M. Ephraim Palm Beach Jewish Film Festival, and ad-hoc cultural arts programming.

The Director will make decisions that blend and balance mission fulfillment, community demand for entertainment/learning opportunities and financial sustainability.

Lifeguard & Water Safety Instructor

The Mandel Jewish Community Center of the Palm Beaches is seeking a Lifeguard & Water Safety Instructor. Primary responsibilities include supervision of members and guests, swim lesson development and execution, cleaning, policy enforcement, program and event set up/break down and various other duties associated with the aquatic complex operations.

To create a positive learning environment for swim instruction for all age groups. Responsibilities include age group coaching duties with emphasis on safety, proper skill development, seasonal planning, daily workouts, goal setting and promotion of both competitive swim and team goals. Work schedule is generally 30-35 hours during each work week Sunday – Saturday with evening or weekend work as directed by work schedule, programs and deadlines.

Unit Head

The Unit Head, under the supervision of the Program Director is responsible for supervising the Senior and Junior Counselors and is responsible for camper safety and well being at all times. Work schedule is generally June - August, Sunday – Saturday as directed by summer camp schedule each year.

Senior Counselor

This position is responsible for camper safety and well being at all times. The Senior Counselor will also follow the schedule provided by the Unit Head and plan activities when necessary for the campers. The Senior Counselor will be required to stay with their immediate camp group at all times during camp hours. Work is supervised on a limited basis as necessary and reports directly to the Camp Unit Head. Work schedule is generally June – August, Sunday – Saturday as directed by summer camp schedule each year.

The Junior Counselor, under the supervision of the Unit Head will assist the Senior Counselor with the camp group. This includes being responsible for camper safety, well being, schedule and will be required to stay with their camp group at all times. Special Needs Camp Counselor

The Special Needs Camp Counselor, under the supervision of the Special Needs Camp Director, will be required to stay with their camp group at all times in addition to being responsible for their campers’ safety and well being at all times. The Special Needs Camp Counselor will follow the schedule provided by the Director of Special Needs and plan activities, when necessary, for the campers. Work schedule is generally June – August, Sunday – Saturday as directed by summer camp schedule each year.

Specialist

This position will be responsible for planning, implementing and leading all activities of the designated specialty for the campers under the supervision of the Camp Director. The Camp Shalom Specialist will work with the Camp Director to create lesson plans prior to each specialty session. Palm Beach Gardens Open Positions


Early Childhood Learning Center Director

Responsibilities include the development and administration of all early childhood programming at the Barbara and Jack Kay Early Childhood Learning Center. The PBG ECLC Director develops, inspires, implements, and leads a program rooted in best practices in Early Childhood Education, while integrating ideals from a variety of educational philosophies, frameworks, principles, and values. Through strategic thinking, direction, and mentoring, the PBG ECLC Director must effectively supervise all aspects of implementing the vision of the program which include managing and leading the entire Early Childhood department while focusing on the following: program and curriculum development, staff supervision and development, relationships with parents, families and administration. The PBG ECLC Director is also responsible for the oversite of the schools licensing and personnel files to ensure they are in compliance with the requirements set forth by regulatory agencies. Work is supervised by the Chief Executive Officer on a limited basis, as necessary. Work schedule is generally 40 hours during each work week Monday – Friday with occasional evening or weekend work as directed by work schedule, programs and deadlines. Travel between JCC locations may be required.

Swim Coach

Under the direction of the Aquatic Director and Head Swim Coach, the Assistant Swim Coach is responsible for helping coach and manage the J Swim team. Responsibilities include age-group coaching duties with an emphasis on safety, proper skill development, team member development, seasonal planning, daily workouts, goal setting, and promotion of both competitive swimming and J Swims core values and team goals.

Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor

This position's primary responsibility is to ensure safety to prevent accidents, create a safe, positive learning environment for swim instruction for all age groups in and around the JCC aquatic complex. Duties include but are not limited to, supervision of members and guests, swim lesson development and execution, cleaning, policy enforcement, program and event set up/break down and various other duties associated with the aquatic complex operations. This position has daily, frequent contact with the public and requires the ability to interact with the public in a professional, friendly, positive and tactful manner at all times. Work is supervised on a limited basis as necessary. Work schedule is part-time and hours vary Sunday through Saturday with evening and weekend work as dictated by work schedule and agency programs.

Building Services Support

Perform event set-up and upkeep of the Palm Beach Gardens campus, including routine activities such as light cleaning, event set-up, light maintenance working under the supervision of the Building Services Manager.Work schedule is generally 20 hours during each work week Sunday - Saturday as directed by work schedule and deadlines.

Palm Beach Gardens Open Summer Camp Positions


Lead Photographer

• Plan, direct, and implement photography of camp throughout the summer under the direction of the Camp Director. Work with camp staff to photograph camp wide special events and activities.
• Perform pre-camp responsibilities including creating shot list of camp groups, ordering supplies and any necessary pre-camp set-up.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of campers served, interact appropriately with campers in a variety of situations, appropriately model behavior and use positive behavior-management techniques - enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control.
• Continually document summer 2019 and the Camp Shalom experience by creating visual content, both photographs and videos
• Post daily content to Facebook and password-protected online photo album (CampSite)
• Be diligent about only posting content of children who have signed photo waivers
• Upload and manage visual content in camp’s photo archive
• As needed, participate in trips and other special events in order to document the camp story
• Supervise camp photographers, assist and mentor as needed.
• Spend a limited number of hours posting pictures and general organization.
• Keep track of favorite photos to create an end of summer video and a weekly slideshow Meet with program staff when possible and stay aware of the daily schedule
