Counting Down To Summer!
We are already counting down to summer and hope that you will join us for another amazing camp experience where we will create friendships and memories to last a lifetime!
Camp Shalom is looking forward to a fantastic summer of helping campers learn new skills by stepping outside of their comfort zone in order to promote confidence, develop character and build self-esteem through new experiences.
Check out some ways that our camp stands out above the rest!
Our team’s first priority every summer is the health and safety of our campers and staff. Counselors and staff are required to pass a Level II background screening. All exterior doors are locked and cannot be opened without an access pass. In addition, our security guards are on duty at all times throughout the summer.
Current health forms, the Florida State HRS-H Form 3040 and the Florida certificate of immunization 680 Part A, are available from your pediatrician and must be on file in the camp office. For the health and safety of all campers and staff, campers will not be permitted to attend camp without a completed medical examination and required paper work. The Mandel JCC does not accept religious exemptions and does require all campers to be up to date on their MMR vaccine
It’s that feeling you get when you enter the JCC and are greeted by name. It’s that feeling when you culminate the week by singing Shabbat songs with your friends. It’s that feeling of a close-knit JCC community where life-long friendships are created, summer memories are made, and friends, counselors, and staff become like family.
Every week campers come home with personalized letters from their counselors highlighting each camper’s favorite activities. Every week campers come home with personalized letters from their counselors highlighting each camper’s favorite activities. We send out emails weekly that serve as reminders about what’s going on in camp that parents need to know about. A photographer takes pictures at camp activities and you’ll get access to those pictures on social media to share with family and friends.
The camp day begins at 9:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm but we understand that those hours don’t work for everyone so we open our doors as early at 8:00 am and close our doors as late as 6:00 pm to accommodate working schedules.
Camp Shalom maintains a low staff to child ratio which allows counselors to form relationships with their campers and better supervise the daily activities.
Camp Shalom is thrilled to have a full-time registered nurse on staff every summer. Our camp nurse administers medications, helps with boo-boos and gives an extra dose of TLC when needed.
Campers in Grades K-8 will have free swim each day. Yeladim, our preschool camp, has instructional swim three times a week. Lifeguards are always on duty throughout the camp day.
Who says there is no gold at Camp Shalom? Camp Shalom is known for their incredible special events days that include carnivals, wacky water day, gold rush, lip sync contest, and more! These are some of our most memorable days and the ones our campers talk about year after year.
Hate packing lunch? No problem! Camp Shalom offers an optional catered lunch by Chef Corp. Buy lunch for your camper as little as one day a week or for the entire week!
All lunches include a fresh fruit or vegetable and a side dish, dessert and a bottle of water. Lunches are nut-free, but are produced in a facility that uses nuts, soy and dairy in recipes. Gluten free available.
