Description
An audacious documentary, that offers an utterly unique take on Nazis, comics and history. The documentary follows artist and cult filmmaker Philippe Mora as he uncovers his fathers remarkable exploits in the French Resistance. His parents were well-known artists and fixtures of Australian bohemian life. Less known is his father's friendship with Marcel Marceau and how the two of them saved thousands of Jewish lives by stuffing secret Resistance documents in baguettes dripping with garlicky mayonnaise that Nazi border guards would refuse to handle. The ploy worked like a charm, and Georges nickname stuck throughthe decades, when he proudly whisked up endless batches of mayonnaise. "The connectivity of memory, legacy and family is defined with a playful yet profound dexterity in Trevor Grahams soulful, inspiring documentary." Screen-Space. Audience Award Jewish International Film Festival, Australia.
