CAMP TIKVAH, SUMMER INCLUSION PROGRAM FOR SPECIAL NEEDS CHLIDREN, RECEIVES $5,000 DONATION FROM PYTHIAN YOUTH FOUNDATION

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (July 28, 2017) – Camp Tikvah, the special needs program at the Mandel JCC’s Camp Shalom, received a $5,000 donation from the Pythian Youth Foundation, Inc. The foundation is the charitable arm of the Knights of Pythias of Florida, an international fraternal organization. This generous support brings the organization’s total donation to the Mandel JCC over $55,000 over the past nearly 16 years.

“We are in awe of the continued support of the Knights of Pythias and are so appreciative of their continued generosity,” said Vicki Roitman, CEO of the Mandel JCC of the Palm Beaches. “It truly is a testament to its local membership and the dedicated gentleman who recognize the immense value that Camp Tikvah provides to so many children in our community.”

The support of the Knights of Pythias allows children whose families are in financial need the opportunity to attend this special needs summer camp. Camp Tikvah is held at Camp Shalom at the Mandel JCC in Palm Beach Gardens and Boynton Beach. The program provides a summer camp experience for children and teens with varying exceptionalities such as cognitive, emotional, developmental and learning disabilities.

The Knights of Pythias was founded in Washington D.C. in 1864 with the primary goal to express the principles of friendship, charity and benevolence by making contributions to those in financial distress or in the wake of a natural disaster.

The organization is currently seeking membership to establish a charter in the Northern Palm Beaches. Those interested should contact Norman Bergstein at snbergy619@aol.com or 561.499.2710.
